Institut für Flugzeugbau – Universität Stuttgart

The Institute of Aircraft Design (IFB) at the University of Stuttgart stands for basic and applied research in the field of aircraft construction.Research and teaching with a focus on aircraft design, lightweight construction, manufacturing technology and wind energy. The focus of production technology is on the manufacture of fibre reinforced composites using innovative textile processes. Material, process and product developments are carried out holistically and across industries at the institute. Virtual design and calculation methods, resource-efficient material and product manufacturing and certified testing technology help us in achieving this. With this know-how, the IFB is a partner in various national and international development and research projects.

Energy efficiency and careful use of resource

... are motivation and goals of research and development at the Institute of Aircraft Design.
